Appleton—Appleton business leader Tim Higgins has endorsed state Representative Roger Roth in his bid to unseat Steve Kagen in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District.

“Congressman Kagen has supported the disastrous policies of Speaker Nancy Pelosi nearly all of the time,” said Higgins.  “We need someone like Roger Roth who has proven himself as a legislative leader, not a follower, and who has values that are much closer to those of the people of northeast Wisconsin than Kagen’s.”

“I think people sometimes lose sight of the fact that experience makes a difference in politics, just like in every other line of work.  Would anyone seriously consider electing a district attorney who had no legal background?  Roger’s shown he has the ability to work within legislative constraints and still get things done,” said Higgins.

Higgins owns ChiRho Services, a consulting and research business.

“It is time for a new generation of conservative leaders. Roger has owned a small business, served in Iraq and fought for us in the state legislature,” said Higgins.  “He may be younger than most who run for office, but he has made his mark.  He’s the kind of person that younger people can emulate and older people can trust.”

“Tim has served our community for years as a business and civic leader, and I know that with the help of him and others we can restore common sense, conservative leadership to Wisconsin’s 8th District,” said Roth.
